Set at the heart of Buenos Aires’ most iconic urban landmark, this project focuses on developing a precise heritage survey and technical support framework for the conservation of the Obelisk — a national symbol exposed to constant environmental stress, heavy traffic pollution, and large-scale public activity.

Framed within one of Argentina’s most significant diplomatic residences, this project combined heritage sensitivity with cross-border coordination to restore its historic envelope. Working between UK standards and Argentina’s national heritage framework, the intervention preserved the building’s architectural integrity while balancing international protocols with local craftsmanship.

Introducing the IBIX® micro-abrasion system to Argentina for the first time, the intervention ensured a safe and precise cleaning process supported by drone documentation and remote oversight — all while maintaining uninterrupted liturgical use and honoring the temple’s cultural significance.
