PARISH NUESTRA SEÑORA DE BALVANERA
Framed within one of Buenos Aires’ most historic parish temples, this project combined heritage sensitivity with cross-border coordination to restore the original character of its marble altar. Introducing the IBIX® micro-abrasion system to Argentina for the first time, the intervention ensured a safe and precise cleaning process supported by drone documentation and remote oversight — all while maintaining uninterrupted liturgical use and honoring the temple’s cultural significance.
HOLSTEK’S ROLE — THE BRIDGE BETWEEN SYSTEMS
Holstek served as the local facilitator and coordination lead, enabling a multinational restoration team to operate effectively within Argentina’s heritage and religious environment.
This hybrid role included:
Cross-Border Coordination
Integrating Argentine restorers, European advisors, and specialized technicians within a unified workflow aligned with international heritage standards.
Technical Mediation
Translating advanced restoration methodologies—such as the IBIX® micro-abrasion system—into locally actionable processes, ensuring the safe treatment of delicate marble while preserving its original craftsmanship.
Site Leadership & Remote Continuity
Supporting daily execution through structured visual reporting, drone documentation, and coordinated communication — essential for enabling consistent oversight from the Netherlands.
Stakeholder Interface
Acting as the operational link between local teams and international decision-makers, ensuring clear information flow, timely approvals, and unified progress. Cloud-based reporting provided real-time visibility despite distance and time-zone differences.
Holstek’s focus was on harmonizing specialists, methodologies, and expectations so the entire team could function as one coordinated system.
PROJECT OUTCOME
The intervention delivered a precise and respectful restoration of the historic altar, including:
• micro-abrasion cleaning with the IBIX® system
• stabilization and recovery of delicate marble details
• non-destructive conservation techniques
• drone and photographic documentation for heritage records
The project restored the altar’s original clarity and craftsmanship while setting a precedent for future cross-border restoration efforts within active religious spaces.
WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS
This project highlights a growing reality:
heritage interventions increasingly rely on international collaboration, where no single institution holds all required expertise.
Holstek’s hybrid facilitation — blending documentation, coordination, culture, and technology — enabled a multinational team to work with clarity, respect, and precision while safeguarding a significant historic and spiritual landmark.
