PARISH NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA MISERICORDIA
Framed within one of the most historic parish institutions in the Buenos Aires district of Flores, the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia is known for its early connection to Pope Francis and its long-standing role in the community’s cultural and spiritual life.
HOLSTEK’S ROLE — THE BRIDGE BETWEEN SYSTEMS
Holstek worked in close collaboration with the parish’s architectural team, serving as the local facilitator and coordination lead to execute a sensitive façade restoration across areas of complex and difficult access.
This hybrid role included:
Cross-Border Coordination
Aligning local restoration teams with international conservation advisors within a unified workflow designed for heritage structures exposed to intense urban pollution.
Technical Mediation
Translating advanced methodologies — including nano-technology treatments and rope-access systems modeled after Italian heritage practices — into locally actionable procedures that ensured safe and efficient cleaning across all façade levels.
Site Leadership & Remote Continuity
Combining drone imaging with POV footage captured directly from rope-access technicians, Holstek enabled architects and supervisors to “see from height” without needing to use safety harnesses or climb. This technology provided real-time visibility of high-altitude zones, allowing precise decision-making and continuous oversight.
Stakeholder Interface
Acting as the operational bridge between the parish’s architectural team, specialized contractors, and external advisors, ensuring clarity, timely approvals, and a coordinated sequence of interventions.
Holstek focused on harmonizing tools, expertise, and communication so the entire project could operate as one seamless, technology-supported system.
PROJECT OUTCOME
The intervention delivered a respectful and technically robust recovery of the parish façade, including:
• removal of fungus, smog, and environmental staining
• cleaning and conservation of the rosetón and architectural details
• certified rope-access work using Petzl anchors for high-altitude zones
• drone and POV documentation enabling remote supervision of inaccessible areas
• nano-technology application for long-term protection and reduced maintenance
The result restored clarity, color, and material integrity while significantly improving resilience in a high-pollution urban corridor.
WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS
This project reflects a broader shift in heritage conservation:
technology and specialized access methods now extend the reach of traditional architectural practice.
Through hybrid facilitation — blending coordination, innovation, visual reporting, and local craftsmanship — Holstek enabled a multidisciplinary team to preserve a historically meaningful site linked to the early life of Pope Francis, ensuring its longevity for future generations.
